2006 A YEAR OF STEADY, WORLDWIDE GROWTH FOR TROON GOLF
Scottsdale, Ariz. – Troon Golf,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is pleased to announce that it has added 19 new facilities to its portfolio thus far in 2006, including seven operating properties and 12 development projects, making this a year during which the company’s steady growth strategy centered around adding the proper mix of operating properties and development projects continued to be realized. Additionally, reconfirming the company’s position as the leader in the industry, 100% of the management agreements in the Troon Golf portfolio that were scheduled for renewal this year were renewed.
Troon Golf’s growth for 2006 includes both domestic and international expansion, with the company’s domestic additions including such high profile facilities as: Queens Gap in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina; Harmony Golf Preserve in Orlando, Florida; and Sandpines Golf Links on the central coast of Oregon. Internationally, Troon Golf expanded into Canada with a golf development on the western side of Vancouver Island, and in Europe, with existing courses in the Azores off the coast of Portugal, a development project, Amendoeira Golf Resort, in the Algarve region of Portugal, and a redevelopment project outside of Paris.

Especially pleasing to its management team was Troon Golf’s renewal success rate of 100% for management agreements eligible to be renewed in 2006. These contracts include: The Crosby Club – San Diego, California; Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort – Biwabik, Minnesota; Talking Stick Golf Club – Scottsdale, Arizona; and The Westin La Cantera Resort & Spa, San Antonio, Texas.
Throughout 2006 Troon Golf has seen the “fruits of its labor” with the opening of 12 facilities around the world. In Australia, Pacific Harbor Golf and Country Club in Queensland, and Kooindah Waters Golf Club and Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club in New South Wales opened to great acclaim in the first half of the year, and in the Caribbean, Punta Espada Golf Club at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic and Temenos Golf Club on the island of Anguilla, are celebrating their openings this month and are receiving great buzz from both golfers and media alike. Playa Mujeres Golf Club in Cancun, Mexico opened this spring, positioning itself as the only luxury golf facility within ½ hour drive of the beach resort’s hotel corridor.
In the United States, The Retreat Golf & Country Club, in Corona, California and the Country Club of Oxford in Oxford, Mississippi, opened to great reviews. In Georgia, both Georgia Tech Club in Alpharetta and Savannah Quarters Country Club in Savannah celebrated openings this fall and are making names for themselves in the region. St. James Plantation in Southport, North Carolina celebrated the opening of its Reserve course (the facility’s final 18-holes) this summer, bringing the property’s total to 81. And finally, a bit further north, The Peninsula Golf & Country Club in Millsboro, Delaware further positioned itself as the leading private golf community in the mid-Atlantic region, having received incredible accolades upon opening this past summer.
